My Friends,
You and I are more than tired of this ‘pause’ in everyday living that we are presently experiencing, No one can deny that. We want to go back to a normal way of living. That’s undeniable and we want it NOW.
Maybe with the time we have in “pause mode” we can take advantage of it. Perhaps we can pray a bit more since most of us have more time; perhaps we can take more time to better understand the members of our family and what struggles they may be going through; perhaps we can take this time given us to reflect on our lives a bit more and evaluate them, seeing how they measure up to the Lord’s standards.
Turning a bad thing into something positive and worthwhile is the work of the committed Catholic Christian that you and I are. The Lord rising from the dead has enabled us to do those things that humanly speaking would be difficult but with the tools that Christ gives us, they become easier and help calm our spirits.
See what you can do with your life; I will do the same for mine.
Stay well
God Bless,
Father John
In the Gospel, the person of Philip could stand for each of us. Philip wants, as we do at times, just a little more. Philip says: Lord, just show us the Father and that will be enough for me.
We human beings always seem to want just a little more and then we will believe and be satisfied. The Lord tells Philip and through him, tells us to have faith, to trust in Him, to allow Him to penetrate those parts of us that still struggle with doubt. Christ should be enough for us.
May the Lord take hold of our hearts and become the center of our lives.
