My Friends,
Our faith is about love, a love that the Lord showed us very emphatically when He died on the cross for us. We have a God who loves us not because of who we are but because of who He is. That love for us is unconditional.
If the Lord loves us to the point of dying for us and loves us not because of anything we did, we know only too well that He is with us in this pandemic every step of the way and will see us through it. No doubt whatsoever.
Hopefully soon we will once again be together and praise our God for all that He does on our behalf in our beautiful Church.
God Bless,
Father John
Jesus tells Peter very simply through His questioning that if he says he loves Christ, then he must feed His sheep which in essence means that Peter must care for the people the Lord entrusts to him. Peter must be for them what Christ had been for him and the other disciples. Peter must follow in the footsteps of Christ. Following Christ for us means living a Christ like life in our daily lives; extending the same mercy, kindness, love, forgiveness and peace to the people we meet.
The Lord asks us the same question. Do we love Christ? Of course, we say we do but we must ask ourselves: exactly how do we prove our love for Christ? Only we can answer that question to the Lord who knows our hearts.
May each of us grow in our commitment to follow the Lord and serve Him in our own lives .
