Dear Parishioners,
What a difference a day makes!!! This past Saturday I was all set to celebrate the 5 PM Mass and then came a notice from the Cardinal about canceling all Masses indefinitely which was almost surreal. The area around the Church was like a ghost town this past weekend. In my lifetime, I never experienced anything like this nor has any of you I’m sure. Masses canceled, Lenten talks, Stations of the Cross canceled- all because of the threat of the corona virus’ devastating effects on so many people.
At a time like this, all of us need to stay strong, stay healthy and follow the directions of our health providers. Most importantly, we need to stay strong in our faith that the Lord will help us in this great time of trial. He who is our Way, our Truth and our Life will guide us through this disease and bring us back to our Church family where we can once again worship with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Please know that along with all of our Priests, I am praying for you and your family’s health and well being. We pray that we may never give in to despair because the Lord is always offering Hope to those who follow and trust Him.
The Lord is always here for us; we are never alone. Come and spend some time with the Lord in private prayer. Our Church doors are open for you to pray privately from 8 am to 4 pm during the week and on Sunday from 8 am to 2 pm.
These are difficult times for all of us in many ways- physically, spiritually and financially. I certainly understand that. All of us are struggling as is our Church to meet its bills. I prayerfully ask that if you can, you continue to support us by sending in your contribution to the Rectory or contributing on our Website.
Sincerely,
Father John Lauri
Pastor
