Dear Friends,
I have wonderful news to tell you. The directives from the Archdiocese have been accelerated today. Starting Tuesday, we will have weekday Masses again. We are back to our 8 am and 12 noon Masses. All people are required to wear a mask in Church and follow social distancing. Gloves are optional.
I look forward to celebrating Mass once again with you our dear parishioners in person. Please remember it is ONLY our weekday Masses that we can say at this time. We will inform you when Sunday Mass will begin as soon as we get the ok from the Archdiocese.
As our Gospel teaches us, may each of us be a beacon of light so all may see us as messengers of the Lord and see Christ through our actions.
God Bless,
Father John
In today’s Gospel, the Lord speaks about salt and light. Salt as we know gives flavor to foods. What the Lord is telling us is that as His disciples, we must flavor the world so to speak with our good works. Our world must abound with our works of kindness, mercy, compassion and love.
Jesus continues by telling us that our light must shine before all to see. We do good deeds, acts of kindness not to show off but to serve as an example to others that perhaps they too should be doing something to serve the needs of the community.
May all that you and I do first and foremost give glory to God and secondly help others to see that each of us is called to witness to the goodness of our God by taking care of those less fortunate than ourselves.
