Dear Parishioners,
The first reading today speaks about the jealousy of those who didn’t believe in Christ. They put the Apostles in jail but even the bars of a prison couldn’t keep them from proclaiming the fact that Jesus is Lord to all people.
Nothing could keep the followers of Christ from proclaiming to all the love, mercy, hope and peace that Jesus imparted to them. This is what the Lord imparts to you and me my friends as well.
You and I are given all that the first Apostles received from Christ. He is with us now as He was with them and enables us to be bold and courageous even in the midst of the virus that envelopes us. Nothing and no one will dampen our spirits because the Lord is risen and reigns as King forever in our hearts. May God be praised forevermore!! Alleluia.
God Bless,
Father John
The Gospel speaks about light and darkness. The ways of the world are the darkness that is spoken of. Not that the world is evil. But some people prefer to live lives in the darkness of sin- hatred, anger, immorality- rather than a life lived in Christ and for Christ.
By rising, Jesus dispelled the darkness of sin and death and given you and me and all who believe in Him – a chance for new life, a life lived in the brightness of God’s love.
May you and I always hunger for the new life and light that Jesus brings.
