My Friends,
In these most uncertain times, you and I cry out for some type of surety, something that we have absolutely no question about. We long for something that anchors us, something or someone that can calm our fears and anxieties and give us hope.
The only answer is Christ. He and He alone can calm our fears; He and He alone can give us peace even in the midst of this pandemic. He and He alone can strengthen our hearts and give us the stamina we need to sail through the stormiest of seas.
We will get through this and once again see one another (other than FaceTime) in our beautiful Church and worship as we ought with great reverence and devotion.
God never abandons those whom He loves; He started a covenant with the people of the Old Testament and you and I are inheritors of that great legacy. You and I are His people whom He will never abandon.
STAY WELL!!!
God Bless,
Father John
In the world in which we live, promises often times aren’t kept and a person’s word is not worth very much at all. The readings today speak about God’s word, God’s promise to us- His covenant of love. The Lord remembers His covenant forever.
As people of faith, you and I know that His word is binding. He has been by our side through trying times and good times. He will be our God and we, His people, as long as we follow what He asks of us. Next week we will relive His greatest act of love- His greatest act of selfless giving- His death on the cross.
We never have to worry about the Lord’s backing out of His word because He has shown us time and time again just how much He loves us. May you and I live by His word, making it a part of our very lives, putting it into practice each and every day.
